Retired marshal Buck Roberts (Buck Jones) has left law enforcement and is enjoying life on his northern Arizona ranch when he receives a telegram from Marshal Bat Madison (Jay Wilsey) requesting his aid in stopping a rash of stagecoach robberies near villain invested Mesa City, and off he goes as a fast-paced Rough Riders (Jones, Tim McCoy, Raymond Hatton) adventure begins.

The Rough Riders Rough Up The Bad Guys
Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, Raymond Hatton are U.S. Marshals called The Rough Riders in this Monogram series. Here they pretend not to know each other so each can work separately on identifying and capturing the gang of killers and stage coach gold shipment robbers. All three are good, but McCoy is really good. All the bad guys are regulars and know their stuff: Tris Coffin is the boss villain aided by uncredited henchmen Ben Corbett, Gene Alsace, Slim Whitaker and others. Luana Walters was the obligatory beauty here. According to IMDb, between 1930-56 she appeared in 71 movies, mostly B quality including a few exploitation boilers. IMDb says 57:00, but we get 52:11 here. I really liked McCoy's input, so it gets 4 stars.
